Kotoko declared winners over Nouadhibou; set to host Al Hilal on December 22

The Porcupine Warriors have qualified to the next stage of the Champions League despite not kicking ball on Sunday

Asante Kotoko have been declared winners in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League over FC Nouadhibou at the Accra Sports Stadium despite not kicking the ball.

The game was called off after two players of Nouadhibou who tested positive of Coronavirus disease were unwilling to depart the stadium and wanted to play part of the game.

Similar incident happened yesterday, Saturday, leading to the postponement of the game, however, the Togolese referee in charge of the match led Kotoko players to the field and declared them winners since Nouadhibou failed to appear after their COVID-19 results delayed.

Kotoko will face Al Hilal Omdurman in the first round first leg on December 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium before the return fixture takes place kn Omdurman on January 6
