The midfielder finally said his last words to the Wonder Club’s top hierarchy and supporters after sealing a move to the Phobians
Hearts of Oak midfielder Gladson Awako has penned an emotional farewell message to former club Great Olympics following his move last week.
The 30-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Phobians worth $15,000 as Samuel Boadu wants to bolster his midfield with Awako’s experience.
“It’s with mixed emotions that I am writing this message. To everyone at Accra Great Olympics Football Club. The owner Mr Amakai who brought me here, to my teammates who helped me, to the staff who made my time here easy and to all you fans who made me feel special week in week out,” Awako posted on Twitter post.
“It has been an incredible journey and it is with great sadness that I must say goodbye. I will miss you all and wish you the best of luck for the future.’Thanks for everything”

Awako will be playing in Caf Champions League with Hearts and his first official game will be against CI Kamsar of Guinea in the preliminary stage. The first leg will be played on September 12 in Guinea and the return fixture slated for September 19 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The winner, after these games, will square it off with Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco for a place in the group stage.
