The Hunters boss believes they will still finish in second position despite their recent poor run of results

Bechem United coach Kassim Mingle has insisted they will not lose their second position after going nine points behind Asante Kotoko in the race for the Premier League title.

The Hunters have consistently failed to capitalize on Kotoko’s inability to win games consistently.

With six games remaining, Bechem will play three games at home and three away from home.

“We will consolidate our position. Nobody can move us from the second position,” Mingle said after the 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak on Saturday.

“It was very competitive game. My players did not play the way we’ve been playing always so I’m disappointed in their play today. They were not putting our passes together and the way we attack the 18 in our finish, my players were not doing that and I don’t know why,” coach Mingle said after the game.

“My goalkeeper did very well by preventing them from getting another goal. When you miss some of your key players, definitely those coming in will not play like those who have been. It will take time before they gel into the team so normally that’s how it happens.”

Bechem United will travel up North to play Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

They will later face Aduana Stars in the semifinals of the FA Cup at the Golden City Park in Berekum on Sunday.
