The Serbian has suggested that Ghanaians should lower their expectations since the Black Stars lack a potential striker like Asamoah Gyan
Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has advised Ghanaians to lower expectations as the Black Stars seek to gain qualification from the group stage of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The Black Stars have struggled in the two games played so far and are yet to record a win after losing to Morocco and sharing the spoils with Gabon.
However, they must defeat Comoros in the final game of the group to stand a chance of progressing to the round of 16 as either runners up of Group C or one of the best four third-place countries.
And Milovan believes the squad in-depth cannot be likened to that of 2010 where the Black Stars reached the final of the Afcon and quarterfinals of Fifa World Cup since the team lacks potent strikers like Asamoah Gyan.
“We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan. We don’t have that type of a player to change things for the team with small chance,” Milovan said ahead of the game on Tuesday.
“Communication is not a problem and they understand me very well. The problem is just that we didn’t have enough time to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations. We don’t have the same team like 2010. Not enough time for preparations,” he added.
Ghana sit third of Group C with a point and any results apart from a win against Comoros will see them exiting the tournament earlier than expected.
