The Miners have relieved their coach off his duties following a slow start to the Premier League

Ghana Premier League side Ashanti Gold have terminated the contract of coach Ernest Thompson Quartey after only three games, AshesGyamera.com understands.

The Obuasi-based club began the season with a win over Techiman Eleven Wonders on opening day before they shared the spoils 1-1 with Karela at home.

However, they suffered a painful 2-0 defeat to King Faisal last weekend and that has led to the sacking of Quartey.

On Monday, the club’s technical director Ricardo Da Rocha was in charge of the team’s recovery training session after Quartey was told to step aside.

Ashanti Gold will host Hearts of Oak who are also yet to record a win this season on Sunday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.

Any results apart from win for the Phobians could further invite pressure on Samuel Boadu who has gone four games without a win in all competitions.
