The Eagles recovered from their opening day defeat to hammer Relizane at home on Tuesday

Hearts of Oak opponents in Caf Confederation Cup, JS Souara, recovered from their defeat last week to defeat RC Relizane 6-0 in the second game of 2021/22 Algerian Ligue 1 on Tuesday.

Souara suffered a 2-1 away defeat last Friday against Biskra but showed a positive reaction this time around. They scored six unanswered goals against second string Relizane whose first team players refused to travel for the game due to unpaid bonuses.

As a result, Belaid Hamidi scored a hat-trick became the first player to achieve that milestone this season in Algeria.

Hamidi opened the scoring by the third minute for Souara after a quick break before M.A Ouis made it 2-0 on the 42nd minute.

After the break, Imadeddine Boubekeur added another fine finish on 61st minute to unsettle Relizane before Hamidi netted his second of the day six minutes later.

Hamidi completed his hat-trick on 74th minute through a penalty. The striker sent Relizane’s goalkeeper to the wrong direction after his teammate was brought down in the box.

Mohamed Hammia completed the riot on the 90th minute with a simple finish

Hearts, after they were eliminated from Caf Champions League by Wydad Athletic Club following a 6-1 thrashing, will host Souara at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the Caf Confederation playoffs on November 27 before the travel to Algeria for the return fixture a week later.

The winner after the tie will qualify to the group stage of the competition.
