Ghanaian referee Boateng confirmed dead in road accident

The knight of the whistle lost his live in a head on collision Saturday night when returning from a funeral rite

Ghanaian referee Jones Boateng has lost his life in a serious road accident that happened at a village along the Obuasi to Dunkwa-on-Offin main road.

The young man, who is reported to be in his early thirties, was a class one referee and although was dropped from the list of referees that were passed to officiate in the 2020/21 league season, he had higher hopes of gatecrashing into it next season

He went to Dunkwa to attend the funeral of a person believed to be close and untimely lost his life in a head-on collision accident.

Boateng was a Kumasi-based referee and his family as well as Ashanti Regional Referees Association are yet to comment on the sad event as they are left in distress.

May his soul rest in peace.
