The Fifa council member could lose his position at the highest decision making body if he is unable to free himself from the alleged fraudulent activities

World football governing body Fifa have revealed that they are monitoring closely the alleged fraudulent charges pressed against Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi, according to BBC.

Nyantakyi, 49, was invited by the country’s criminal investigation department (CID) in Accra on Wednesday after he arrived from his trip to Morocco.

He was allegedly spotted in an investigative video undertaken by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, negotiating with foreign investors on how to bribe their way through Ghana and run businesses and that’s falls under falls pretence since government has denied any knowledge of his dealings.

The Fifa council member is believed to have revealed to the investors that he can bribe Ghana’s president Akufo-Addo and his vice president Mahamudu Bawumia with $5 million and $3 million respectively.

Although, Fifa have not issued any statement so far, it is likely there will be on later when things are clear and it will either be in favour of or against Nyantakyi.

Nyantakyi, who faces a 25-year jail term, became Ghana FA president in 2005 and reports suggest that he may seek another tenure in office if he is not found guilty after the current troubles.
