Salisu Mohammed shines in Monaco’s slim win over Montpellier

The Ghanaian centre-back was the talk of town after his incredible performance helped his side to pick a narrow victory at home

Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu played the entire duration when Monaco defeated Montpellier 2-1 in French Ligue 1 at Stade Louis II on Saturday night.

Congolese midfielder Rabby Nzingoula broke the deadlock by the 16th minute after he was assisted by Akor Adams by the 16th minute.

However, Embolo assisted Folarin Balogun netted the equaliser on 32nd minute before Breel Embola provide another assist for substitute Lamine Camara to score the winner deep in additional time.

Salisu was ranked as the best performer on the field according to statistics. He had 74 out of 87 passes completed — the highest on the day and also won the highest tackles – five out of six.

The former Southampton defender also won seven ground duels out of nine and five out five aerial duels.
